The Bookstore at Broomhill Community Library
Open when the library is open
Welcome to the Bookstore! We have a wide range of 'almost new' to 'gently used' adult and children's books for sale. Our inventory is continously being updated thanks to generous donations from our community of avid readers. You'll find recent best sellers, books by favourite authors, and new writers you may want to give a go.
Suggested donation is £1 for adult and older children's books, and 50p for pre-school children's books. All proceeds from book sales are used to support library programs.
Donations to the Bookstore
When possible, we add donations of children's books in excellent condition to our library catalogue. Your donation helps grow our children's library catalogue and will benefit many children in our community.
Donations of good quality books are greatly appreciated and can be dropped off at the Reception Desk in the Library. Bulk donations can be accepted by prior arrangement with the library. Please note that we cannot accept the following:
Books in unsaleable condition
Large, oversized books such as encylopeadias and large dictionairies
Readers Digest sets
How does the Bookstore help the library?
All proceeds from bookstore sales are used to fund library services and programmes. During the last year, we've used funds from bookstore sales to:
purchase cartridges for library printers
purchase a new and larger reception desk to compensate for the loss of the library kiosk
fund new library activities and services
upgrade our library computers
